This new capability can reduce the need to send divers into potentially hazardous and dirty environments for inspection and location tasks. ROV's can also increase efficiency where diving times are restricted due to depth, temperature or tidal conditions. By using ROV's to survey dive sites a focused plan can be put in place before divers enter the water, ensuring their dive time is used to maximum effect.
